Reception
Weekly Update - Friday 9th May 2025
Summary of this week:
It’s been another busy week in Early Years! We have enjoyed practicing underarm throwing in PE, raised money and had lots of fun with the colour run, and celebrated VE Day with our very own Street Party! We have been so impressed by how fascinated the children have been in learning about the past over the last few weeks, through our story, Peepo, our trip to the Rural Life Museum and now our learning about VE Day.
Our learning after half term:
Personal Social Emotional Development (PSED): Starting to understand the impact of unkind words. Makaton signs: giant, bed, breakfast, egg, bacon, milk Song of the week: The Giant’s Breakfast
|
Homework:
Have a look at a picture of the union Jack. What does each part represent?
Notices & Reminders:
PE- Tuesdays- The children need to arrive in their PE kit ready to meet coach Dan for a prompt 9 am start.
Swimming- Fridays
On PE and Swimming days please try to arrive at school on time at 8:45 so we can prepare the children (toilet runs etc) before heading to our lessons.
Please do send the children in wearing the uniform they are going to wear all day as we seem to be spending a lot of time supporting children who want to change during the day!
Please remember that on hot days you can apply sunscreen before the children come into school and send in a named bottle of sunscreen for the children to apply themselves before they go out to play at lunchtime.
Thanks so much for making sure the children have their reading books in their bags every day. It’s really helping us to keep track of all our precious books!
Don’t forget to send in a bottle of water every day please, as well as a hat.
